About US

Octopus Electrical Service was established 28 years ago by Mick Kealy. Prior to the creation of Octopus Electrical Service, Mick spent many years living and working on boats around South East Asia. During this time, he worked as a captain and engineer on several pleasure and commercial vessels. As a qualified electrician, Mick also spent much of this time rewiring many boats around Singapore, Thailand and the Philippines including the famous Stormvogel. Upon settling down in Phuket, the decision was made to start Octopus Electrical Service in 1998.

The early days of the company saw Mick working from home on his motorbike, but in the decades since, Octopus Electrical Service has grown into one of the biggest marine electrical companies in Asia. This growth can be credited to a handful of hardworking Thai electrical and electronic engineers. People who joined the company with enthusiasm and have stayed loyal throughout the many years that followed and have continued to build on their knowledge base and long-term relationships with our clients ever since. With Mick’s broad knowledge of the Marine Electrical Industry we have built a formidable team with over 150 years of electrical experience.

Currently, Octopus Electrical Service has 13 Employees with five service vehicles that operate out of all the marinas, ship yards and bays on Phuket Island. We have a comprehensive stock list of everything required to carry out electrical repairs, rewires, new equipment installations and general marine electrical work. We additionally work closely with the other professional contractors on the island and have no problem organising a quality stainless steel bracket or a new fiberglass support base to enhance an installation to maintain your boat’s appearance.
