CU-MF-90-3 Coaxial protector N Type Male to N Type Female
Novaris RF Equipment Protection gas discharge surge protectors are capable of passing RF signals to 3GHz (limited by connector type).
N-type Male / female protectors are suitable for bulkhead mounting.
Novaris manufactures and supplies surge protection products adaptable to critical environments, such as power system, industrial control, CCTV, LAN and Ethernet, telephone and coaxial. Being the member of the Australian lightning committees, it keeps updating with the recent standards and delivers products designed to meet with cutting-edge technology solutions. Purposely built for device and environmental protection, these power control devices are equipped to large applications such as telecommunications, railway signalling and SCADA. A multitude of Novaris products are intended for various emerging industrial needs, say POE over coax, camera security and exceptional protection.
They are devised to provide stages of protection based on the severity level.
HOW it works
The Novaris unit works as a example to protect sensitive electrical equipment by controlling the maximum voltage potential across the positive and Negative terminals of the switch board in a local area or the appliances, this unit protects against EMP voltages produced because of the lighting and also surges from the lighting.
as a example on a normal 24 volt system if the voltage rises to 34 volts then a short is placed across the wires to reduce the voltage and hold it at 30v and dumps this to the earth /ground system on the boat, once the voltage drops below 30v then the short is releases, This short can only be held for a few Nano seconds 8/20us with amperage’s upto 12,000 amps but its enough to protect the equipment in Most cases. after this hit the unit may have to be replaced but there is a fault display included.
This How it works is a basic overview of the devices operation, in Laymans terms that non electrical people will understand.
